FINDLAY, Ohio, June 1, 2021 – CentraComm, a women-owned business specializing in IT security and infrastructure, announced today that the firm has received official designation as a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Registered Provider Organization (RPO) from the CMMC Accreditation Body (AB).
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) created the CMMC Accreditation Body, a non-profit, independent organization, to accredit Third Party Assessment Organizations and individual assessors. CentraComm has been selected as a CMMC-AB accredited RPO to provide CMMC services to contractors in the Department of Defense. As an RPO, CentraComm employs staff trained in CMMC methodology, offers non-certified consultative services and CMMC assessment preparation, and is bound by a Professional Code of Conduct.
With the CMMC model, companies can longer provide self-assessments as evidence of compliance; therefore, CMMC RPOs are now a critical component of preparations for 2021 DoD solicitations and continued progress through 2025, when all DoD procurement will include CMMC requirements. As an RPO, CentraComm provides CMMC guidance and support to companies impacted by these new regulations. RPOs like CentraComm are authorized by the CMMC-AB to provide consulting services to government contractors and subcontractors in preparation for their CMMC assessments.
Each RPO is required to have registered practitioners associated with their organization. Dr. Loren Wagner, Director of Risk & Technical Services at CentraComm, has received the CMMC Accreditation Body Registered Practitioner designation for demonstrating the highest level of competency by completing the required training program. CentraComm and Dr. Wagner are now listed in the CMMC Marketplace as a resource to assist in gaining this certification for companies that are a part of the Department of Defense (DoD) supply chain. “We’re honored to be a part of the CMMC ecosystem as a certified RPO,” says Lynn Child, CentraComm President. “RPO designation demonstrates our commitment to CMMC standards and cybersecurity best practices.”
In business for 20 years, CentraComm has supported clients with maintaining required cybersecurity compliance for two decades. About Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification
Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a program initiated by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) to measure their defense contractors’ capabilities, readiness, and sophistication in the area of cybersecurity. The primary goal of the certification is to improve the surety and security of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Federal Contract Information (FCI) that is in the possession and use of their federal contractors.
